Israel Experience and Jewish Continuity...

Land is the source of life and creation, of culture and true independence.
- David Ben-Gurion

Israel Travel Opportunities

SHJC strongly encourages our congregants, particularly our young people, to travel to Israel.  To that end, we are happy to highlight low-cost and highly subsidized trips when the opportunities arise.

Applications are now being accepted for the prestigious The Bronfman Youth Fellowships In Israel, a fully endowed, highly selective, summer program for students who will be entering their senior year in high school in the Fall of 2008. Complete application packages must be postmarked by January 15, 2008. Further information is available through the Bronfman program website, www.bronfman.org, or contact Roz or Ed Rudofsky (rrudofsky@hotmail.com or erudofsky@zrlex.com).

The Jewish National Fund (JNF) is seeking Jewish young adults, ages 18 - 30, who want to go back to Israel to spend their spring vacation doing volunteer community service in the Negev. "Alternative Spring Break" trips depart March 8th, 16th and 23rd, 2008. This will be the third year for ASB, which has earned national media attention and was showcased last year on MTV's "“The Amazing Break”. To register and find out more information, visit www.jnf.org/springbreak
