very world rests on the breath of children in the schoolhouse.”

Housed in beautiful dedicated classrooms in the Rabbi and Rochelle
Shapiro Education Center, the SHJC Nursery School is a happy,
warm and creative environment where each child can develop intellectually,
emotionally and physically. In addition to learning basic
age-appropriate educational concepts (shapes, colors, letters,
numbers, sequencing, etc.), our children are instilled with a
preliminary understanding of, and strong feelings for, their Jewish
heritage. Religious and secular holidays are taught and
celebrated. Music plays an important role in our program, and
we have a full-time music specialist on staff.
We begin, even at this early age, to instill a love and
appreciation for Israel in our young students. They're
introduced to the many regions of the country, its historic
landmarks and natural resources through our innovative Israel
Day program, which has been singled out by United Synagogue
for a special award.
Classes take full advantage of our facilities, visiting the
computer center, the library, and of course, the spectacular
new Evelyn B. Maiman Playground, a particular
favorite!
There are extended day,
"lunch bunch" and enrichment programs, as well as "Mommy/Daddy and Me," and classes for toddlers, three and four year olds.
We
also offer a summer program, which adds an extra measure out outdoor
fun.
